157 A Council of Elders Meeting
Sir Erom Stuttin did not like council meetings. But he could not get out of it. Particularly now that he was second in command according to the king.
He mostly sat in as secluded a corner as he could on the table and watched the lords and ladies of the council argue out economic policies with the king. Usually, except the king made efforts to involve him in the conversation, none of the fancy men and women even bothered to look at him. Just as he had told Kelley, he knew they were not happy with him being there. In fact, Erom had a theory that most of them were not happy with Gavadiol at all.
For one thing, Gavadiol always sought to implement policies that would make everyone a bit more equal. And Erom knew that if there was one thing these old folks loved most, it was the fact that they were on top of the food chain.
“...what do you think, Sir Erom?”
