"My lady, why did you stop?" Gavin asked, pressing closer to Audrey.
Normally, Audrey would've lunged at him, but now, she was completely still.
Then, without warning, she collapsed backward. Blood erupted from her mouth in thick, choking spurts, the crimson stain rapidly spreading across the sheets.
As Gavin screamed in horror, she pushed herself up, swaying unsteadily as she stumbled toward the garage.
She refused to believe that Alexander was hurt. She had to find him herself!
After sliding into the car, she noticed the document envelope he'd left for her still sitting on the passenger seat.
Audrey's insides twisted with pain as she gasped for air, but each breath only drove the agony deeper, spreading through her veins until it consumed her.
How could she have agreed to let Alexander fly that private jet alone? Why hadn't she assigned experienced pilots to go with him?
Why? Because there were only so many hours in a day.
