Chapter 1066 You’ve Been Watching Too Many Sitcoms
"I haven't told him, but Imperium will be burying Bethany, so he should find out soon," Joseph said sadly.
Although Bethany had been dismissed from Imperium, considering she had been with the organization for so long and had ultimately sacrificed her life to protect them, it was only proper to give her a burial.
Chloe did not object. After all, Bethany had bluntly stated that she did not like Chloe and would be rid of her, unlike the sly and cunning Xavia who stabbed her in the back.
"Let's go for a walk. I noticed a night market nearby on our way here."
During her school days, Chloe loved taking evening strolls and exploring night markets with Emily. It felt like life would slow down, and indulging in some street food was satisfying.
Joseph agreed. "Sure, but don't wake Jas. He's probably asleep."
This was Jasper’s first time out of Docwood, and he was extremely excited. Since Chloe and Jasper had reunited, he had become increasingly lively like those of his age and began to embrace everything around him.
It was clear that the one who gave birth to the child would care for them. Joseph blamed himself for not realizing the unusual dynamics between Jasper and Xavia sooner.

The night market was located on a street with old, nostalgic houses on both sides. The vendors set up their stalls along the road while leaving a narrow two-meter-wide walkway in the middle. It was essentially a one-way street. Different from the stressful atmosphere at Docwood, the vendors warmly greeted the patrons, each of them smiling broadly.
"Miss, the hairpins are handmade. Would you like to take a look?" A young girl holding a pair of butterfly hair pins approached Chloe with a cheerful smile.
Chloe paused to examine the hairpins. They were crafted from silver, featuring a simple yet elegant design with realistic butterfly patterns. They were far more beautiful than those found online.
She raised her head and asked, "How much for a pair?"
"It's 7 dollars for a pair. I assure you that we don't overcharge you just because you're tourists."
Chloe burst into laughter. "You don't have to be so honest."
The young girl disdainfully said, "No, I have to tell you. We can't let certain people tarnish the reputation of our town."
Chloe and Joseph sensed her resentment and asked, "Which shop or store here has the habit of deceiving their customers?"
The young girl glanced at Chloe before shifting her gaze to Joseph. A hint of admiration flashed across her eyes as she shook her head. "You don't have to know. It's a cosmetic surgery hospital. Both of you are good looking, so you don't need any work done."
"But I've checked online, and there are quite a few cosmetic surgery hospitals in this town. There's one called New Life. Many people go there for cosmetic procedures, and the results are excellent."
"It's all a scam, not to mention that they charge ridiculous prices. The hospital you mentioned might have true skills, but only the director possesses them. Most of the doctors probably don't even have certificates. Oh well, since you’re so beautiful, there's no need for you to go there."
With the widespread use of the internet, everything was shared online. Recently, there have been several cases of botched surgeries, causing quite a stir and impacting the reputation of Louis Town. As a result, fewer people came here for vacations.
"I see," Chloe replied and bought the hairpins.
Joseph took out a note from his wallet and handed it to the young girl.
Chloe looked at him in surprise and said, "You didn't bring your card with you?"
He tapped her nose and smiled. "You’ve been watching too many sitcoms. Who uses their card at a night market?"
She nodded. "You are right."
