“Olivia, you’re hiding something from me.”
It was Jessica, her voice low and her gaze giving me a knowing look.
When I was getting ready for work, I checked the marks on my neck and chin. It had been two days, and the red marks had faded considerably. However, with my fair skin, they still left a visible trace. Even after applying foundation, the marks remained—a lingering reminder of the previous night.
I wrapped a silk scarf around my neck to cover the marks and applied a thicker layer of concealer on my chin, hoping no one would notice.
Unfortunately, it didn’t escape Jessica’s sharp eyes. Jessica was one of the company’s notorious gossipers, but she could also be surprisingly perceptive at times.
