Roughly ten minutes later, James returned with Dane in tow.
Before James could knock on the door, Dane walked straight into the office casually and flopped down on the couch. "Mr. Tiernan, it's been a while."
James stared at Spencer helplessly, as if to say, "Mr. Tiernan, it's not my fault he barged in."
Spencer took a glance at Dane, then motioned for James to step out. Then, he pressed the intercom to ask for two cups of coffee to be sent in before finally walking toward the couch.
Dane crossed one leg casually over the other. Spencer walked over and sat across from him. He asked, "What brings you here today, Mr. Howard?"
While polite, Spencer's tone carried no hint of friendliness.
"Of course, I'm here to talk about our collaboration. Didn't I mention a few projects at the auction? I think it's time to discuss them in detail," Dane replied.
Spencer studied the man across from him. He genuinely couldn't get a read on Dane. He couldn't figure out what Dane's objective was in
