Wanda finally turned the handle and stepped into the office.
Hans sat behind his desk, eyes locked on the computer screen. He didn't look up when she entered.
She stood awkwardly in the center of the spacious office, uncertain and a little tense. After a moment of silence, she cleared her throat and asked, "Hans, did you need me for something?"
Hans seemed preoccupied, his eyes still fixed on the screen. Without looking up, he said, "Have a seat."
Wanda nodded and walked over to the leather couch, sitting down quietly. She snuck a glance in his direction, watching him work intently.
It wasn't until nearly 20 minutes later that he finally stopped typing and looked up. He adjusted his glasses, the frames resting low on his nose, and looked straight at her.
Hans didn't wear glasses often. His prescription was low, so he only used it while working in the office.
