Andrew inwardly cursed, then fixed a cold, sharp stare on Nancy. "Nancy, why don't you explain this yourself?"
The warning in his eyes was unmistakable. He thought that if Nancy knew what was good for her, she should just admit it, apologize, and minimize the damage.
Nancy's expression stayed calm. "Raine copied me."
The words hit the crowd like a bombshell. The room went dead silent at that.
A few seconds later, Fergus jumped to his feet. He shouted, "Nancy, have you no shame? Raine copied you? What on earth do you have that's worth copying?"
Raine looked shocked, too, then quickly put on a wounded expression. "Nancy, how could you say that about me? I was trying to protect your reputation. That's why I didn't say what really happened."
