Gideon's words should have made Nancy happy. Yet, an odd feeling lingered in her chest. It almost seemed as if Gideon didn't really want her to know who he had loved in the past.
"Alright," Nancy said while nodding. "I understand."
Gideon's gaze softened. "I heard you suspended the jewelry department manager. Are you planning to attend the upcoming ore exhibition? I heard it's going to be the biggest one ever, with a lot of top-grade ores up for sale."
"Of course I'll go. Are you planning to come, too?"
Someone of Gideon's status usually wouldn't bother with such routine business events.
"Depends. I just might."
Back in Riversdale, the first thing Nancy did was return all the gifts Natalie had ever given her.
There weren't many, and most of them were just inexpensive trinkets that Nancy had cherished for the sake of their friendship. She'd brought them along to Riversdale, which made sending them all back easier.
With that matter settled, Nancy got ready to head to the office.
