Chapter 93 Supposedly Strangers
A waiter quickly brought Gideon a new fork.
Ian drank his tea as he watched Nancy and Gideon interact.
"Have you two met before?" he asked.
"No," said Nancy.
"Yes," said Gideon.
They'd both spoken at almost the same time.
Ian looked even more suspicious of them.
Nancy had no choice but to explain, "We've met around the neighborhood a few times."
"Fair enough. It's such a coincidence that you two live in the same neighborhood," said Ian, looking over at Gideon. There was no telling if he doubted her claim.
Gideon replied with a smile, "It looks like Nancy and I were meant to get along."
"It's just a coincidence. That neighborhood is considered prime land in Riversdale," Ian retorted before changing the subject, unwilling to dwell on the topic any longer. "What do you think of the auction this time, Mr. Fuller?"
He asked the question tentatively, certain that Gideon would attempt to deflect. Unexpectedly, Gideon replied sincerely, "There are several decent projects among them.
