Inside a secluded private villa, Selena lay motionless on the bed. Her face was as pale as paper, yet her lips were tightly pressed together like she was fighting something even in unconsciousness.
The man stood by the bed, staring at her with a grim expression. After a moment, he turned to the doctor with a chilly look. "How is she?"
The doctor glanced at her and let out a quiet sigh. "I've done everything I can. The bullet hit dangerously close to her heart. I got it out, but whether she wakes up or not... that's up to her. If she doesn't regain consciousness by tomorrow evening, I'm afraid..." he paused, "...you'll need to be prepared for the worst."
The man's gaze turned ice-cold. "You better pray she wakes up. Otherwise, you're going down with her."
The doctor flinched and quickly nodded. "Yes, yes! Of course!"
He knew it. Being dragged here so late at night never meant anything good. Now, all he could do was silently hope Selena pulled through. Turning toward the bed, he whispere
