At 11:00 pm, after seeing off the last group of guests, Julia flopped on the couch.
She pulled out her phone to scroll through her social feed and happened to see the nine photos Teresa had posted.
The cheerful scene of the Sutton family filled Julia with annoyance.
Today was William's birthday, and Teresa, as a daughter-in-law, hadn't just skipped coming home—she hadn't even sent a single greeting.
In past years, Teresa would have spent two consecutive days cooking at home, but this year she had returned to the Sutton residence instead.
Julia's resentment flared.
Fuming, she stormed upstairs and, without knocking, barged straight into Cameron's study.
After tossing her phone onto Cameron's desk, Julia snapped, "Can you believe this?"
Cameron picked up the phone and glanced at it briefly, frowning. "What's the problem?"
Julia leaned on the desk with both hands, looking down at him. "Today is your dad's birthday, and she didn't even acknowledge it! She even ran off to her paren
