Luca nodded, his eyes meeting Rebecca's in a silent exchange. They both knew the risks, knew that this could very well be a trap. But with the Morettis closing in, they had no choice.
"Xavi," Luca said, kneeling down to meet his son's eyes. "I know this is all very confusing and scary. But I need you to trust me. Can you do that?"
The boy looked from Luca to his mother, uncertainty written across his young face. But then, slowly, he nodded. "Okay... Dad."
The word seemed to hit Luca like a physical blow, a mix of joy and pain flashing across his features. He reached out, gently squeezing Xavi's shoulder. "That's my boy. Now, let's get you to safety."
As they moved towards the hidden entrance to the tunnels, Rebecca couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding. They were entering unknown territory, pursued by a ruthless enemy, with a child to protect. The odds were stacked against them.
