"This isn't over, Luca," Antonio said, spitting blood onto the warehouse floor. "You can't control her heart."
Luca's hand instinctively moved to the gun at his back, but he resisted the urge to draw it. "Get out of here, Antonio. And don't come back."
Antonio held Luca's gaze for a moment longer before turning and limping towards the exit. As he reached the door, he paused and looked back.
"You may have won this fight, Luca, but the war isn't over. Remember that."
With those parting words, Antonio disappeared into the fading daylight, leaving Luca alone in the warehouse, battered and seething with a mix of anger and betrayal.
As Luca drove home, his knuckles white on the steering wheel, he couldn't shake the feeling that this confrontation was far from the end. Little did he know that Antonio's threat ran deeper than he could have imagined.
