"He should face consequences," Rebecca said, her voice steady. "But death... death would be too easy. He should live with the knowledge of what he's done, of how thoroughly he failed."
Luca nodded, considering her words. He turned back to Antonio, who was watching them with a mix of fear and defiance.
"Antonio Rossi," Luca announced, his voice carrying throughout the room. "For your crimes against the Castelli family, I have decided to spare your life."
A collective gasp went through the room, followed by angry mutters. Luca held up his hand again, silencing them.
"But make no mistake," he continued, his eyes boring into Antonio. "Your life as you knew it is over. You will be stripped of all assets, all connections. You will be exiled from Florence, from Italy. If you ever set foot in this country again, if you ever attempt to contact anyone associated with the Castelli family, your life will be forfeit. Do you understand?"
