90 Pain in the Dream

KAREN'S POV I slowly opened my eyes, feeling disoriented and unsettled. As I sat up in bed, I couldn't shake off the lingering feeling of unease that had settled in my stomach. It took me a moment to realize that I had just woken up from a nightmare. In the dream, I had walked into Percy's apartment and found him in bed with another woman. My heart had shattered into a million pieces as I watched him wrap his arms around her, whispering sweet nothings into her ear. I remembered the pain and betrayal I felt and the tears that streamed down my face as Percy's eyes met mine with guilt and regret. Shaking my head to clear the image from my mind, I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. It was just a dream, I reminded myself. But the emotions were still raw and real, and I couldn't help but wonder if it was a sign of something more. "Are you okay, Karen?" Percy's voice filled the room, and I jumped, not realizing that he was awake. "I'm fine," I replied, trying to
