It seemed like the end of the world to me, even though I still had a strain of life within me.
As my consciousness started to come to me, trying to lose the bounds that held me down, my mind kept traveling between what was happening to Karen and getting out of there. She seemed to have stopped moving, and I would be gutted to imagine her death at this moment.
It was my worst nightmare coming to reality.
“Karen…” I said with a strain on my voice as my head began to ache heavily like a rod had been hit on my head a million times over.
My voice was not loud enough to reach her; even at that, “Karen...” I called again, with the expectation that she would answer me.
Her face had turned pale as she kept losing blood in mass quantities. “Percy...” her whisper whisked through my ears.
