“Why did you do it? Our family was doing great, but you ruined it! Michael surely knew it was your doing. I understand your concerns, but Barkworth’s Group hasn’t acted against us yet. Do you honestly think it’s because Michael is too busy?” Chiara was taken aback. She instinctively looked at him. “What do you mean?” “He’s not looking to mess with Lane’s Group.” Lyla also looked at him with doubt. “Why not?” “It’s because we’re still cooperating with him. Father, seriously, what kind of sick joke are you playing?” Theodore sighed, “I know you’re biased against Ivanka. But you have to admit, she’s pretty sharp.” Lyla’s eyes flickered as she realized something. Chiara, too, was uncertain for a moment about whether to feel happy or angry. Was Lane’s Group saved? After all, each of Ivanka’s original five plans proved satisfactory. Despite their initial state of abandonment and complexity, her restructuring turned them into flawless and impeccable solutions. She would never allow it to collapse. She would find ways to sustain it, which would benefit Michael greatly. However, Chiara could not genuinely feel happy. Instead, she felt envious of Ivanka. Why did she have that ability? Who was she to accomplish such things?! Theodore comforted her, saying, “Chiara, don’t cry... With Ivanka’s current situation, it might actually be a good thing for us.
