Cynthia really disliked Janice's superior attitude. She chuckled faintly and retorted, "So what? Didn't I just congratulate you? Is that not the answer you want? Or do you want me to give my condolences?"
"You!" Janice clenched her fists in anger.
She was deliberately showing off in hopes of seeing Cynthia upset and dejected, like a miserable loser begging for pity. But Cynthia's indifferent reaction was like punching a stone wall—she only ended up hurting herself.
Gritting her teeth, Janice snapped, "You'd better mean it when you say congratulations. And remember to keep your distance from Zachary. He's about to become a married man. Anyone with basic decency would know what to do."
With that, she left. She couldn't stand Cynthia's calm and composed demeanor. It made her feel like a clown!
