CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY SEVEN – THE REVOLUTIONARY STUDENTS
As the morning wore on, the protest swelled. Students from other departments joined in, many skipping classes to show solidarity. Local news vans began to appear, their cameras capturing the growing demonstration.
It was nearing noon when a commotion at the edge of the quad caught Jasmine's attention. Dean Lambert was pushing his way through the crowd, his face flushed with anger.
"Ms. Delacroix!" he shouted over the din. "This has gone far enough! I demand that you disperse this... this mob immediately!"
Jasmine stood her ground. "We're not going anywhere, Dean. Not until there's a full, independent investigation into the art thefts and your role in the cover-up."
Lambert sputtered, but before he could reply, another voice cut through the noise.
"I believe I can help with that."
The crowd parted to reveal Detective Ramirez, flanked by several uniformed officers.
