Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted Mr. Graham, who had been cowering against the wall the entire time. He was hunched over and inching toward the side door.
Unfortunately for him, he hadn't made it two steps before the bodyguards grabbed him from both sides.
I gave him a mildly amused smile.
"Mr. Graham, weren't you just talking about having me sleep with you? And now, where do you think you're going?"
The bodyguards hauled him back. He had just opened his mouth to speak when a rapid clatter of high heels sounded from the entrance.
A middle-aged woman in a tailored business suit strode in. The moment Mr. Graham saw her, his face turned pale.
He shrank back, trembling. "H-Honey? Why are you here?"
The woman didn't spare him so much as a glance. She walked straight up to me, her expression apologetic.
"Ms. Brooke, I'm terribly sorry. Mr. Smith called me and said my husband was causing trouble here."
