Chapter 56
She wrapped her jacket tighter around her chest, as she pulled her suitcase behind her. The sky was dark and the moon was up and full. Ella knew that Lucas had to have been already in his "room".
Ella hurried over to the bus stop, that was nestled at the opening of an alley. A cab ride home would be to expensive and she couldn't wait all night for Luke. A tall man sat under the roof of the bus stop, his face covered by his dark hoodie. Ella ignored him and moved a few feet away from him, as her phone started to ring.
"Luke?" Ella answered the phone, in hopes of it being her best friend.
"I know I'm late. I can't come pick you up ... but I've sent Dean to come pick you up. He should be there within the hour."
"An hour?" Ella didn't really like Dean, but he was better than riding the bus for two hours. "Tell him I'm at the bus stop down the street."
"I will. Are you okay waiting?" Luke asked, worried for his friend.
