Chapter 39 Give Me Another Chance to Win You Back
Liora's POV
When I came back after dinner, Ethan had left.
The next Monday, when I walked into the apothecary room, I saw a beautifully-wrapped bouquet of red roses on my desk and a Cartier gift box beside it.
I opened it, and inside the box was a simple rose gold bracelet. I'd once told Ethan that I liked this bracelet.
I was stunned, and more than that, I found it funny. I never received this when I loved Ethan, but it came to me easily after I fell out of love with him.
Was this Ethan's way of compensating for his unfaithfulness?
The red roses came with a card. Ethan had written a message himself: "The first time I saw you, Lio, you were as passionate as this bouquet of red roses. Give me a chance to win you back, please?"
I stared expressionlessly. My colleague Dorothy, who was in charge of medicinal formulations for critical illnesses, leaned over curiously. "Is this from an admirer, Liora? This bracelet costs at least ten grand, you know!"
I had no idea how to answer.
