Liora's POV I was still debating how to politely refuse without sounding rude when Julie suddenly piped up in a high-pitched voice, saying, "Liora, your injuries look serious. Why don't I take you to the clinic?" Since when was Julia this kind? I raised my head, only to realize Julia wasn't even looking at me. Although she called my name, her gaze was fixed on Alpha Kieran with a burning hunger in her eyes, like a wolf spotting prey. Did Julia like Kieran? I smiled and answered, "No need. I can go on my own." I had just stepped out of the apothecary room when footsteps followed me. I turned and found Kieran behind me. He stated, "I'll go with you to the clinic." To that, I responded, "Thank you, but that isn't necessary." Why was Kieran being considerate? Sure, he had already helped me more than once, but none of those moments had exactly been pleasant memories. Kieran declared, "I don't like repeating myself. I'm headed there anyway.
