I hadn’t seen it in ages. It had probably been hiding in the laundry room in that corner of stuff I hadn’t ever bothered to get through. Surprisingly, it looked clean. It's looked practically brand new.
He smiled. “It is. Eason said it was the only luggage you had, which I’ll be fixing ASAP. Cecil and Eason helped me pack a bag for you, and since I couldn’t find Maggie’s go bag, I figured she’d already brought it.”
“How is Richard?” I asked.
“In good spirits,” he said as he unpacked the cooler. “He wants to try pasta sooner rather than later.”
I shook my head. “He told you that?”
“More or less.”
The other bag was full of hot food. He loaded the refrigerator full of packed containers of food and dropped a bag of disposable silverware in the drawer.
