"Wait, so you're not even gonna ask Alpha Sherman for child support?" Noah's eyebrows shot up as he stared at me across our kitchen table.
I crossed my arms defensively. "Absolutely not. Why would I? He didn't sign up for this - I did. My choice, my responsibility."
The firmness in my voice surprised even me.
Noah dragged a hand down his face, eyes fixed on the worn tablecloth as he let out a frustrated sigh.
"That's not happening, Silvia," he said, his voice quieter but with an edge I rarely heard. "This whole plan is crazy reckless. You realize that, right?"
"You're about to move to a city you've never been to, pregnant, with a temporary job and zero support system," he continued, counting off on his fingers. "What happens when the internship ends? What if there are pregnancy complications? What if the baby comes early?"
His eyes locked with mine. "Either you tell Alpha Sherman about his pup, or I can't support you going to Charlotte. Period."
The room seemed to tilt sideways.
