Chapter 89: Confrontation
After the supposed resolution with Kate, Jason and I had been working hard to regain our footing. The days were beginning to feel lighter, and we were slowly finding our rhythm again. But that fragile peace shattered one morning when I found a note slipped under our front door.
"Can't wait to see you again. - Kate"
I felt my heart rate spike as I read the message. How could she still be doing this? I stormed into the kitchen, where Jason was making coffee.
"Jason, look at this," I said, slamming the note onto the counter.
He picked it up, his face paling. "Lily, I swear, I have no idea how she got our address."
"That’s not the point, Jason!" I snapped, unable to keep the anger from my voice. "The point is that she’s still harassing us, and nothing we’ve done has stopped her."
Jason ran a hand through his hair, clearly frustrated. "I’ll go to Art Vision Magazine and talk to their HR. This has to stop."
