Detective Charles stood in the CEO's office, his expression a mask of disapproval as he addressed Mr. Thompson and Mr. Jones. "Releasing that video was a mistake," he stated firmly, his tone brooking no argument. "It has only served to distract from our investigation into Felix's death."
Mr. Thompson shifted uncomfortably in his seat, a bead of sweat forming on his brow. "Detective, we were merely trying to manage the situation," he protested weakly. "The public scrutiny has been overwhelming. We had to do something to protect the company's reputation."
Charles shook his head, his frustration evident. "I understand your concerns, Mr. Thompson, but we need to focus on finding out what happened to Felix. Every distraction only hinders our progress."
Mr. Jones, Felix's agent, cleared his throat, his tone conciliatory. "Detective, I assure you, we had no intention of derailing your investigation. We just... we felt it was necessary to set the record straight."
