Chapter 8. Guilt
Hector had been bitten by Samuel. He aimed right for the jugular, tearing a devastating amount of flesh from the throat, and leaving a gaping hole. According to Dante, who was on his way to River Moon, Hector had welcomed the attack. Refused to defend himself. He didn't bother shifting into his lycan form; simply standing there, waiting for Samuel to tear into him. "I couldn't get there in time, Aly." Dante explains, stroking my hair. "Once I realised Samuel was gunning for Gomez, I pulled over. I thought Gomez would fight back..."
"It's not your fault." I croak, gently pushing his hand away from me. "This is on me." I resume my pacing, trapped in my office as I wait for news on Hector.
"Don't do that." Dante sighs. "What happened to Hector had nothing to do with you. This is on Samuel."
