Chapter 120
Vivienne's POV
Sunday
I stayed home to rest and didn’t go out.
Gabriella found out about the argument between Alexander and me the night before and tried to convince me to tell him about my pregnancy.
I firmly refused.
Thinking back to last night, I remembered how Alexander had gently caressed my abdomen and asked, “If there’s a child here, would you still choose to divorce me?”
I looked into his eyes. “I once asked you the same question. Do you remember your answer?”
Back then, I had suppressed my emotions and asked him, “…If we had a child, would you still insist on divorcing me?”
Even though so much time had passed, I could still remember his answer clearly: “There is no ‘if.’ Even if there were, I wouldn’t let the child be born.”
Alexander seemed to recall it as well, his expression stiffening slowly, inch by inch.
I responded to him, slowly and firmly, “There is no ‘if.’ Even if there were, I wouldn’t keep the child.”
Alexander’s breath grew heavy and urgent.
