Tristan shrugged and said, "It's quite a shame. I lost my luggage on the way back, along with the letter."
Abigail leaned in eagerly. "Do you still remember what the love letter said?"
"It's been so long," Talia cut in. "He probably doesn't remember. I mean, love letters are usually just sweet nothings with maybe a line or two of poetry."
"Come on, Tristan. Tell us."
The gossip was far more entertaining than the drinking. Abigail gathered the others who were eating and drinking to join in the conversation.
Talia felt like an animal in a zoo.
As calm as ever, Tristan said, "That letter? I remember it very well. The first line was…" He paused and continued, "Your pants weren't zipped."
The room went completely silent.
He added, "It looks quite huge."
