Chapter 33 Lucien Was Looking at Her
By the end of the month, Talia's leave was over. Her body had mostly recovered, so she returned to work.
Her colleagues and the pregnant women she cared for all greeted her warmly. On the surface, everything seemed normal. But Lisa, who knew the full story, hesitated to say something whenever she ran into Talia.
After her morning rounds, Talia noticed Lisa looking as though she wanted to say something. She couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Just say it, Lisa. You're going to hurt yourself holding it in like that."
Lisa asked, "Dr. Ainsworth, are you really divorcing your husband?"
"Yeah," she said simply. "All that's left is to sign the papers. I just need to finish the process at the courthouse."
Lisa looked like she wanted to say more. She pursed her lips together but said nothing.
Talia gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Don't overthink it. Get back to work."
She'd thought long and hard about it, but in the end, she turned down the opportunity to go abroad
