Haley’s POV:
The sun had begun to dip lower, painting the sky in pale gold and soft pink. Lily was still in the water, practicing her kicks with Sebastian close by, while Jordan sat beside me, tossing small pebbles into the waves.
Sebastian glanced toward the shore, one arm up to block the sun. “You know,” he called out, “I brought a few things for a barbecue. Thought we could make a little lunch here.”
I blinked in surprise. “You did?”
He nodded, a faint grin on his face. “Burgers, some chicken skewers… and I’ve got a cooler full of drinks.”
Jordan’s face lit up immediately. “We should, Mom! Please? It’s been forever since we all ate together.”
I hesitated, looking between them. I hadn’t exactly planned to turn this into a family outing… but when I saw the way Jordan’s eyes shone, I couldn’t say no. It had been a while since I’d spent any real time with my son without rushing off somewhere.
“Alright,” I said finally, smiling. “Let’s do it.”
