After I sent the message to Logan, Sebastian finally noticed me standing in the doorway.
“There you are,” he said, smiling like nothing was wrong. His voice was warm, soft—like I was some latecomer to a happy reunion, not the woman he had completely forgotten. “Come, sit. We saved your favorite."
He even patted the chair beside him.
Like that would fix everything.
I stood frozen, my jaw clenched so tight it hurt. My fingers trembled at my sides. I could barely hear over the pounding in my ears. That sweet, gentle tone—he used to speak to me like that. But now, after everything, it made my blood boil.
“No, thank you,” I said stiffly.
Then I turned and walked straight into the guest room. My feet moved fast, my vision blurred. Behind me, I heard Jordan’s voice, high and full of childish irritation.
