I didn’t want to talk to him.
Not after everything he had done. Not after everything he had ruined. But there Sebastian stood, as if nothing had happened. As if we could pretend we were fine.
“Healey,” he said softly, “can we talk?”
I crossed my arms. “No. I don’t think we should.”
He frowned, stepping closer. “I just thought maybe… we could still be friends.”
I stared at him, stunned. Friends? After all this?
“We’re not friends, Sebastian,” I said coldly. “We can never be friends.”
His smile dropped.
“The only thing we share now,” I continued, “is Jordan. That’s it. We’re just his parents. Nothing more.”
“But—”
“No,” I said, cutting him off. “Don’t try to turn this into something it’s not.”
He looked away for a second, then back at me. “Don’t you want to know what Logan told me?”
I hesitated.
He took that silence as a yes.
“He warned me,” Sebastian said. “Told me to stay away. Said I’ve hurt you enough.”
I nodded once. “He was right.”
