The night had settled into silence, the kind that made you hear your own heartbeat. The stars hung quietly above us, the city stretching below in golden lights. Logan still had his arms around me, holding me steady from the almost-fall.
I didn’t move. My chest pressed softly against his. His hand rested on the small of my back, warm and firm. His other hand gripped my upper arm gently, like he wasn’t sure he wanted to let go.
His breath hitched. “You okay?”
I nodded, but my voice was barely a whisper. “Yeah.”
Neither of us pulled away.
