"Being with someone you don't even like? That's just disrespecting your own life!" Ethan was throwing in his two cents again, doing his best to talk some sense into him.
Marcus had really had enough. He asked with a straight face, "You done yet?"
Ethan looked at him, visibly aggrieved. "Hey, you haven't even answered me."
"What's it got to do with you?" Marcus's tone was already cold as hell—you could tell he was just about fed up.
"I... can't I care about you a little?" Ethan looked like a sidekick stressing harder than the hero—very much the definition of 'anxious eunuch when the emperor's chill.'
The worst part? Marcus wasn't the least bit moved. He shot back, icy as ever, "That's between her and me."
Ethan clutched his chest dramatically, sighing like he was heartbroken. "You've changed, Iceman. You really have."
