#Chapter 49 - The Samhain Soirée

[Lucian’s POV] I should have been more intrigued by the fact that Samhain was finally going on. Growing up, it had been one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. However, this year was turning out to be far less enjoyable. Mainly for one particular reason. Kane Venmer. The man was proving himself to be quite the pain. Having spoken with Dmitrius, I did feel a bit better informed about what was apparently happening behind the scenes. From what I’d been told, no one from Burmstone’s court has given Venmer any sort of reply. But that didn’t mean that they wouldn’t eventually. Especially, if he was going to be persistent in trying to pursue his plan with Violet. This son of a bitch was playing a dangerous game and he didn’t even realize it. Dmitrius struggled to wrap his mind around my situation with Violet, including our strained past with one another. After he let me explain everything, he was still persistent in telling me that I needed to talk to Violet about it.
