When the elevator came to a stop on the second basement level, Levi said, "Let's go."
"Alright." Maeve pushed his wheelchair out into the basement.
She had never been to Hackett Manor's second basement before. She'd assumed it would be a parking garage or maybe a wine cellar.
Instead, when the elevator doors slid open, she found herself looking at an archive room.
Rows of old cabinets filled the space, with each labeled. It was as though this room hadn't been touched in years.
Maeve couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Hackett, is this the Hackett family's intelligence station?"
"It is," Levi replied. His tone was flat. "This is the archive of intelligence from decades ago. But... it's obsolete now."
In the digital age, places like this had long been rendered obsolete.
