Chapter 1844
Liam glanced at the campus life in front of him one more time. It seemed nice, but it wasn't for him.
He wasn't the type of person to play basketball on campus, eat in the cafeteria, or huddle together in the dorm with friends and game late into the night.
His life was destined to be one of blood and chaos.
Just like Maeve. She belonged to this serene campus, tethered to a world so far removed from his. Their paths were never supposed to cross.
"Stop following me. I already told you—I'm not going to jump."
Liam turned away and took a couple of steps forward. Behind him, he could hear Maeve's hesitant footsteps edging closer.
He looked at the shadow that was looming cautiously and said, "If you keep tailing me, I'll head straight to the rooftop right now."
That did the trick. Maeve froze.
Controlling a woman at her age was almost laughably easy for Liam.
"And don't forget," he added as he waved her off casually, "my name's Liam Larson. Make sure you don't get the wrong guy."
