Chapter 23

Reyna stared at Kylie coldly, remaining completely still. Kylie walked up to her, pretending to be friendly as she tried to press the cup of coffee into her hand. However, her foot suddenly twisted, causing her to stumble toward Reyna with a startled cry. The cup of scalding hot coffee nearly spilled. Reyna quickly moved aside, flipping her wrist to catch Kylie's arm and push it away. Not a drop of coffee was wasted. It all splashed onto Kylie's wrist. "Ah!" Kylie's piercing scream shattered the silence of the office. Reyna couldn't help but find it amusing. What a petty trick! She wondered if Kylie really thought she could pull that off against her. She casually tucked a lock of wavy hair behind her ear and said with a smile, "Ms. Scott, you really ought to be more careful." Kylie's delicate hand turned bright red and began to blister immediately. "Kylie! Reyna, you did that on purpose!" Nathan's eyes blazed with fury. Without thinking, he lunged forward and shoved Reyna aside
