Reyna looked at Maxwell and Liam in confusion, wondering why it looked as if a fight was about to break out between them. She honestly had no problem going back alone. Just as she was about to speak, Maxwell suddenly chuckled and scooped her into his arms. He said to Liam, "Mr. Kingsley, Reyna and I live together, so it would be a bit inconvenient. Besides, she's tired, so we shall be heading back to rest." Reyna hadn't expected Maxwell to pick her up so suddenly. Startled, she let out a yelp and instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck. Before she could process what had just happened, they had already walked out of the banquet hall. She tried to wriggle free, but Maxwell leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Don't forget, we're still partners." Reyna instantly fell silent. He was right. She had agreed to his absurd suggestion on a whim. As expected, one really shouldn't act on impulse. Maxwell placed her in the passenger seat before getting into the driver's seat himself.
