Blair shot Alexander a sharp glare. "Do I really look that foolish?" she muttered.
Alexander leaned back, his tone indifferent. "Are you sure you want my honest answer?"
Blair lowered her hand, her expression serious as she met his gaze. Suddenly, his opinion felt important to her.
Alexander glanced at his watch. "It's getting late. If you've got something to say, let's talk upstairs."
Blair looked out the window, suddenly recognizing the neighborhood. Knowing how upscale—and therefore expensive—the area was, her eyes widened slightly.
"You live here?"
Alexander stepped out of the car, resting his hand on the door. "Technically, it's a friend's place," he said with a faint smile.
Blair nodded, taking his word for it.
"Are you coming up, or do you want me to drive you home?" Alexander asked. "Just so you know, this is my friend's car, and the gas isn't cheap."
