I had screamed the whole way in the car, and now my voice was hoarse. Jonathan didn't care at all—he carried me straight into the elevator.
It rose directly to the entrance of a penthouse. Still holding me, he stepped out.
I looked around at the unfamiliar space, shaking uncontrollably. "What are you trying to do? Jonathan! Can you just say something?"

He kept me boxed in near the entryway, then he pulled out a pair of slippers from a cabinet and set them down by my feet. "Put them on."
I didn't respond or move.
He frowned. After changing into his own shoes, he looked up to see me still frozen in place. He raised an eyebrow. "Want me to put them on for you?"
I shook my head. "I want to leave…"
As soon as I turned to go, he slammed the door shut behind me. His eyes were cold
