This wasn't the first time Royal Investment had held a banquet at this hotel, so Mila was quite familiar with the building's layout. She knew exactly where to go for some peace and quiet and would unlikely to be disturbed.
A cold front had recently swept south, so the night was cold.
The cold wind blowing against her body carried a bracing chill that cleared her head.
Thank goodness she wasn't wearing a gown. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to stay out here.
Her phone pinged with a text from Emma, telling her not to drink too much.
"Got it," Mila replied.
Then, Emma asked her to convey her congratulations to Matteo.
Mila hesitated for a moment before replying with the same text. "Got it."

By that time, the alcohol had mostly worn off, and she was feeling calmer, so she got up and prepared to return to the banquet. Just then, someone pushed open the door.
