"Dari, I know it's over between us. I just… I just wanted to say goodbye properly," said David.
His face looked extremely haggard, but he was dressed in clean, tidy clothes—a white shirt and a pair of jeans, which was what he had worn when we first met.
A lot of time had passed, and he was no longer the young man who amazed me anymore.
But as I met his pleading gaze, I understood that we never seemed to have properly said goodbye to each other before. After all, he hadn't believed me when I had asked for a breakup.
