"She's stabilizing," she said, gently. "Vitals are holding strong. Fever's gone. The wound's healing better than we expected."
"Good." He answered. "What about treatment?"
The doctor hesitated just a beat, but enough for him to notice.
"Tell me."
"She's not ready yet. Her body's still recovering. Starting chemotherapy now would do more harm than good. We have to let her regain more strength."
Keegan's jaw flexed. "We don't have time to wait." He firmly said and finally stood up to face her.
"I know. But this isn't something we do just carelessly. This is about her survival," Halvorsen said calmly. "If we start too early, we risk knocking her down again. She needs to be stronger to handle what's coming."
Keegan knew the doctor was right and so he only sighed in response before asking another question. "And the bone marrow match?"
