With my stomach growling, I wrap a large sweater around myself and exit my room. I don’t want to bother anyone since they’re probably busy, so I quietly pad to the kitchen to find something for breakfast.
I wander around, not knowing where I’m going, until I pass a door and hear a woman shriek, “She’s a human!”
The statement makes me pause. Is someone watching a movie?
“Yes, but we must follow the Alpha’s orders,” Butler Evans voice says. So not a movie. I cringe, realizing I’m eavesdropping, which is incredibly rude.
The girl groans, then her next words bring me even more confusion. “A human doesn’t belong here,” she spits the word with hate. I don’t know who they’re talking about or what they’re talking about, but I tiptoe away so I don’t get caught listening.
I don’t need to upset anyone who works here.
Finally, after a bit more aimless searching, I find the kitchen and Ethan. He sits at a table, surrounded by servers as he eats his breakfast. I want to men
