“Can you help me get my inheritance back?” I ask, testing his word. He said he doesn’t make unfair deals, which implies he’ll help me.
“I’ve arranged for a lawyer to meet with you tonight,” he tells me. Surprised, I look up at him. When had he done that? Was it before I came to the room or had I missed the conversation while waiting for him to be finished with his work?
Ethan clears his throat and motions for the door. “He’s waiting, but if you do not agree to my terms, he nor I will be able to help you,” Ethan states.
The decision is on me. If I agree, I can get started on getting my mother’s money back. If I don’t agree, I will have to waste time finding a lawyer, and I’m already short on time as things are.
