Before I could even answer his question, Edwin rushed past me and locked the door. When he turned back to me, he was grinning from ear to ear.
The sight of that mischievous look on his face made my breath hitch. Once, it had been like pulling teeth to get the man to smile. And now here he was, beaming at me every chance he got like a kid on Christmas morning.
Maybe he and Peter weren’t so different after all.
“You’re locking me in, huh?” I teased, although I knew exactly where this was going.
His lips curved as he took two long strides back toward me, slow and confident. “Oh, yes,” he murmured, his voice low and husky. “We wouldn’t want anyone walking in on us, would we?”
