About an hour had passed and in that time very little had happened. Not much had been said and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep. It had really hit home at that point that we were actually stuck and that nobody was coming, the time ticking by at a snail's pace as I tried to keep myself entertained.
Luckily for Charles, he didn't seem to have any problem getting some forty-winks. He'd had his eyes shut and had hardly moved since our last conversation; the only sign of life once again being the consistent rise and fall of his chest. As hard as I'd tried, I couldn't help but begin to worry as he seemed to be getting slightly paler and his under-eyes slightly darker the further that time went on. He was progressively becoming more and more haggard by the minute, and subconsciously I could feel my mind begin to spiral and wonder what I should do in a worse-case scenario
